小作文属于动态图形题；这也在变化之外但是意料之中；各位考生在准备下半年雅思小作文考题时切记要重动静而轻图形；也就是说真正该关心的是动态和静态图形分别该如何解答应对，而不是某一个图形的安排区分。而此次的曲线图也是动态图形的典型代表，整体难度并不大；但也要特别注意数据的挑选，以及动态变化的语句表达，要够精炼到位但又不罗嗦重复才好。
大作文属于考生们最为熟悉的教育类考题，但是不同以往的是，此次考题涉及到男女生在学科的不同选择方面的问题；当分析具体原因的时候，考生可以从男女生本身的特征及能力角度进行区分辩驳，也可从文理科学科的具体差异走。但是一定要注意题目中有2个提问，也就是说要有足够的篇幅留给第二个提问回答此趋势有否需要被改变。
