1-1学习词汇注意的问题

1、单词的英文解释和例句

例:The oppressed ____ freedom. [ A ] A. demand B. require C. request

oppress→op+press

press 挤,压→pressure 压力

op=against

因此oppressed为“压迫”的意思→oppressed 被压迫的

the+形容词表示一类人

“被压迫的人____自由”那么ABC选项应选择什么?

这题就暴露出一个问题:我们是按汉语记单词的,ABC的中文意思中都有“要求”的意思。

但是汉语只能大概的描述英文,不能百分之百的精准的解释英文。

我们看一下ABC的英文解释:

demand:ask for firmly, unwilling to accept a refusal.强烈地要求,并不情愿接受拒绝require:the ruler set a rule with the expectation that it will be obeyed.统治者期望自己的命令规定会被遵守。(如老师要求你完成作业,老板要求你完成工作)

request:ask for politely.礼貌地要求

单词的例句有两点好处:

1)一个好的例句是最能准确说明单词最本源含义的句子

2)给写作文的时候打下扎实的基础

“不满意”怎么说呢?第一想到satisfied→content大部分单词我们只能达到认识(第一重境界),却达不到会运用(第二重境界)

2、单词的熟词生意

late“死亡”

house“坐落于”,如Beijing neworiental school is housed in Haidian district.

tell“我能够看出来”正确的英文怎么说?I can tell. brave“勇敢地面对”,如国歌中的“冒着敌人的炮火,前进,前进,前进进”brave the enemies' gunfire, march on, march on, march on, on, on...

3、单词的发音

语音的基础是一个单词一个单词地读

postcard名信片,我们对单词的发音,并不敏感,只对单词的拼写和中文意思敏感

pig,第一反应就是“猪”

建设每天花5分钟时间跟读单词,读准后再背单词,这样单词才会背得立体

一读:就是所谓的谐音,就是根据读音联想到单词的意思。

nutrition名词“营养品”

谐音“牛吹神”,现在的很多营养品广告吹牛吹得很神。

curse动词“诅咒”

谐音“克死”,一个寡妇把他的老公给克死了。pest名词“害虫”

谐音“拍死他”

二拼:

就是利用汉语拼音来记单词。

schedule= s+che(车)+ du(堵)+ le(了)有一天你开着车在北京的道路上行驶,你骂了一句,“哇!死车又堵啦!”,车堵了我们必然要改变我们的“时间表”。

leisure=lei(累)+ sure(一定)

你太累了,也该歇歇了

三变形:

很多单词并不是那么规整,需要进行简单的变形。garage名词“修车厂”

g想成哥哥+(c)ar小汽车+age 年龄,有一天,哥哥有一辆小汽车,而这个小汽车又上了年纪,那么送哪去?修车厂

定语从句 一.定语:用来修饰名词(或代词)的成分,位置短前长后(初中:修饰一个名词的词或短语或句子)从句:一个句子做另一个句子的成分,那么这个句子就是另一个句子的从句,另一个句子是这个句子的主句 定语从句:用一个句子充当定语,通常放在被修饰名词(和代词)的后面。 This is a book. This is an interesting book. 新东方四级词汇笔记(非常完整版)第4课 第4课 主谓一致:指的就是给出主语,要求判断谓语动词是用单数还是复数的问题。 一、就近原则: 指句子的主语由两部分单词或短语构成时,由离谓语动词近的那部分主语来决定谓语动词的单复数。 只有当以下单词或短语连接主句的两部分时就近原则才适用: 1. or 或者; 2. either … or … 不是…就是… ,…或… ; 3. neither … nor … 既不…也不…; 4. not only … but also … 不但…而且… ; 5. not … but … 不是…而是… 例如:主语1 or 主语2 谓语动词。此时由主语2决定谓语动词。 10. _C_ either he or his accountants going to claim for the loss? 浅谈大学英语词汇教学 词汇是构成语言的基本要素,是人与人之间交流必不可少的基本材料。没有扎实的词汇基本功,学生的英语水平很难提高。在大学英语教学中,词汇教学占据了很重要的地位。考虑到传统的大学英语词汇教学存在着误区和弊端,教师应该引导学生在记忆单词词义的同时也要注意单词的词性与搭配,在实践中使用单词带动学生的学习热情,引导他们由被动的学习转向主动的学习。 标签:词汇教学;误区;分类;实际运用 引言 在实际应用中,人们首先接触的是词汇,因为思想和概念必须通过词汇来表达。因此,词汇量的多少是衡量学习者英语水平高低的重要标志,是语言学习的根基[1]105。大学英语教学过程涉及到听力,口语,阅读和写作四个方面,听力和阅读属于输入技能,口语和写作属于输出技能,而这些输入技能和输出技能都必须以词汇作为基础[2]133。尽管如此,大部分学生的词汇量并没有很大的扩展,因此,教师需要思考和研究如何改进词汇教学策略,培养学生的单词记忆和运用能力[3]208。 一、大学英语词汇教学的误区和弊端 1.大学英语词汇教学的误区 对于英语词汇学习,存在着一个误区:单词背得越多,英语水平就越高,英语听说读写各个方面的问题也会随之解决。因为受到上述错误思想的影响,部分学生专门花大量的时间记忆词汇,甚至背很多根本就用不到的生僻词汇。结果,这些学生发现到需要实际运用英语的时候,还是觉得很吃力。 这个误区同样影响了部分大学英语教师,他们把大部分的教学时间放在孤立地教授英语词汇上面,而忽视了引导学生去运用这些词汇,把英语词汇教学和英语听说读写相结合[4]96。 传统词汇教学的模式是:教师领读单词,然后找学生重读,教师会纠正学生的发音、语音语调,接着像翻译词典一样,把单词的常用搭配、常用例句机械地讲解给学生,学生跟着教师抄笔记。在这种教学模式下,教师仅仅充当了词典的功能。这种教学方式虽然可以传递给学生很多词汇信息,但是教学过程非常枯燥,学生会慢慢失去听课的兴趣。同时,大多数教师重视的是如何增加学生的词汇量,却忽视了学生词汇掌握的质量问题。 上述误区存在的根本原因是学生的学习方法不对,由于词汇太多,很多学生只是机械地背诵单词,却忽视了词性与搭配,因此不了解单词的用法[5]110。这样往往会导致在口语和写作中经常用一些特别难的词,但是用法却不对。因此学

定语从句 (一)、定义:在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫做定语从句。 定语定语用来限定、修饰名词或代词的,是对名词或代词起修饰、限定作用的词、短语(动词不定式短语、动名词短语和分词短语)或句子,汉语中常用‘……的’表示。主要由形容词担任,此外,名词,代词,数词,分词,副词,不定式以及介词短语也可以来担任,也可以由一个句子来担任。单词作定语时通常放在它所修饰的词之前,作前置定语。短语和从句作定语时则放在所修饰的词之后,作后置定语。 定语从句是指在一个句子中作定语的句子,定语从句要放在所修饰的词后。 如:1) The man who lives next to us is a policeman. 2) You must do everything that I do. 上面两句中的man和everything是定语从句所修饰的词,叫先行词,定语从句放在先行词的后面。 引导定语从句的词有关系代词that, which, who(宾格who, 所有格whose)和关系副词where, when、why 关系词常有三个作用:1、引导定语从句2、代替先行词3、在定语从句中担当一个成分 (二)、关系代词引导的定语从句 1.who指人,在从句中做主语 (1)The boys who are playing football are from Class One.
