Nowadays more and more people care about their health. But how can we keep healthy? In my opinion, it is important to follow some rules.
First, it is very necessary to take some exercise every day. A study shows that getting plenty of exercise makes the heart beat faster and the lung (肺脏) work harder. This cuts down the risk of heart diseases, and helps lower blood pressure. That’s why more and more people take an active part in different kinds of sports and exercise. Every morning many people get up early and take much exercise. Some practice shadowboxing (太极拳) and swordplay (剑术) while others run, jog, walk or dance to music. In the afternoon there are also many people enjoying other sports. Some play basketball, football or volleyball on the playground, others go in for gymnastics or track events. Through sports and exercise, people become healthier and stronger.
Second, eat more fruits and vegetables and less meat such as beef and pork. The food people eat is connected with their health. Meat has more fat than fish. Fat can build up in the arteries (动脉), and then easily causes a heart attack or stroke (中风).
Giving up bad habits like smoking and drinking alcohol is also an important way to keep healthy. Smoking and drinking alcohol injure people’s health a lot, and everyone should stop them. Unfortunately few people follow this piece of advice.
If we pay more attention to keeping fit, we will improve our health and live a healthier and happier life.

Did you sleep the day away on March 21? Well, you should have because it was World Sleeping Day. This is the one day of the year when people around the world care about their sleep and ask themselves a lot of questions about sleep.
Why do we need sleep? Nobody can give a perfect answer to this question yet. However, tests have shown that lack(缺少)of sleep over about four weeks leads to a strong drop in body temperature, great weight loss and finally, sickness.
Different people need different amounts of sleep. Eight hours a night is considered the average amount of sleep. For teenagers, the least number of sleeping hour advised by doctors are: ten hours for primary school students, nine for junior highs and eight for senior highs.
Some people seem to get along just fine with very little sleep at night. Leading American scientist Thomas Edison said that sleep was a waste of time. He did, however take naps during the day. On the other hand, Albert Einstein, another great scientist, said the needed at least ten h ours’ sleep a night.
Here are some of the most useful suggestions for a good night’s sleep!

A A few years ago, I worked at a church(教堂) and since my son was home schooling, he went with me to the church every day. Most mornings, we’d stop at a local convenience store, getting a chocolate drink for him and a cup of coffee for me. The clerk at the store we chose to visit refreshed our lives each day, and so we returned again and again. She had found her own way of enjoying life and her job. I’m not even sure that she was realizing that her energy put a smile on the face of each customer. When a customer brought cookies to the counter, any other clerk could have asked: “Would you like some milk with those cookies? ”Instead, she inquired,“Would you like a lottery ticket(彩票) with those cookies?” She might have asked me if I wanted a donut with my coffee.
