3.Describe your favorite song/music. Explain why you like it. Include reasons and

examples to support your response

My favorite music is pop music /I am more interested in pop music than classical music. On the one hand, it is easy to understand and close to our lives. That’s why so many people love it. Meanwhile, by listening to pop music, I can keep up with the time. On the other hand, although classical music has so much more depth and meaning, I haven’t got the appetite to enjoy yet. Theoretically speaking, pop music is roughly divided into two types: music which stimulates people and music which calms us. It seems that music which stimulates us gives rise to actual changes in our bodies. So if I am tired or drowsy during my work hour I will choose the stimulating music, because if we listen to it, our hearts beat faster , our blood pressure rises, and our blood flows more quickly. On the other hand, I’ll listen to calming music. In this way, my heart beats more gently, my pressure drops, and I feel calm. The sooth flowing melodies help me relax.

I really enjoy listening to music and pop music or pop song is my favorite. One reason is that most lyrics of the pop music are about every-day life, so they are quite comfortable, relaxing and easy to remember. Another reason is that being quite a good singer myself, I really love to sing pop songs, and my favorite singers and bands include Backstreet boys, Westlife, M2M and Ace of Base. Finally, to me, pop music is far more than the music itself. It gave me a lot of inspirations and ideas which helped me to do a better job in many other things. For examples, I once cited a few lines from “the day you went away” by M2M in one of my essays, and my teacher said it was very touching.

From my own experience, I am the chairwoman of my class for more than six years, after attending to university ,I became the chairwomen of the students government of my university. I think I have the ability to lead. Second, I want to use my vision, and thought to lead pe ople, of course listen to the others’ opinion appropriately. I think I have the potential ability to be a nice leader, but I have

to learn more and gain more experience.

I think a leader needs at least two important characteristics. First, a leader should be good at management. There are usually a great number of members under the charge of one leader, so a leader is supposed to organize everything well in order to make a company run smoothly. Secondly, a good leader should be good at making decisions. A good and correct decision can lead to the final success, whereas a wrong and delayed decision may bring about disasters to the company. Of course, this skill requires a lot of working experience.Obviously, there are some other important characteristics of a good leader, but these two are the most important, in my mind.

I disagree with the statement above. I think we should take cell phone with us in case something emergency happened. If we can’t bring it with us, why we buy a cell phone then? Secondly, now cell phone is not only just a phone, but also a calculator, dictionary or recorder. We need to use these functions to help us study in the lecture. What’s more, in my point of view, students should have the right to bring their cell phone, although they have the duty to set cell phones on the vibrate or silent mold and thus not to disturb the lecture. Banning to bring cell phone is unnecessary and disobliging.
