66.blew

67.simply

68.Driven

69.in

故填However。

故填when。

故填in。

In a movie, a woman reads a storybook to her friend’s daughter. As they approach

the last page, she reads, “...and Cinderella and the prince lived happily together ever after.” She closes the book and looks at the young girl, adding, “You know, things don’t always happen like this in real life. I just think you should know that now.”

We were all raised on fairy tales with glass slippers, brave princes and magic! It didn’t take too long to realize that stories like that aren’t necessarily true. In the life, you learned that glass slippers are really uncomfortable, no prince is perfect and magic doesn’t always work.

So what do you do when the way you planned things is not the way they turned out?

Know that parts of your fairy tale have already been written, and sadly, there’s not a whole lot you can do about those first few chapters. You didn’t get the bes t start.Your trust was unexpectedly betrayed. You didn’t get the job. Whatever falls and failures that happened in your past are just that in your past. There’s still more to the story.

While your life has a lot of contributors(投稿者), you are the editor-in-chief. You take what’s there and create the masterpiece. All the good pages and the bad can come together to make a beautiful adventure.

When you find yourself wishing your life was more like the fairy tales, remember that in some ways it already is. There will be dragons, bad witches, great romances, winding roads and friends to help you along the way. So, keep rewriting your story every day that you’re alive. Whether it’s a comedy, tragedy or a little of both, the pen is in your hand. How it all ends is up to you.

34. What is the author’s purpose in writing the passage?

A. To help the readers to live a good life.

B. To encourage the readers to write their own stories.

C. To advise parents to tell the fairy tale to their kids.

D. To describe the difficulties in today’s education.

35.Which of the following may NOT often appear in the fairy tale?

A. Glass slipper.

B. Winding roads.

C. Sad ending.

D. Bad witches.

36.According to the fires paragraph, we know the woman is ________.

A. wise

B. cruel

C. brave

D. stupid

37.Why does the author mention the question in Paragraph 3?

A. To express the doubt to life

B. To compare different ideas.

C. To introduce a point for discussion.

D. To describe the conditions in life.

There will be dragons, bad witches, great romances, winding roads and friends to help you along the way.

You know, things don’t always happen like this in real life. I just think you should know that now.

We grew up with the familiar toy bricks (积木) that gave us the imagination to build towers and castles. Generations have been attracted by this toy that lets children and adults alike create anything and everything. But with over 200 millions sets being sold a year in over 100 countries, the question remains —where did Lego actually come from?

Lego was born from the creative mind of Danish carpenter (木匠), Ole Kirk Christiansen, back in the early 1930s. He established a small business in Denmark. He and his team built a variety of household goods like ironing boards along with wooden toys. The Lego name was adopted in 1934, formed from the Danish words “Leg

Godt” or “play well”, which means “I study” or “I put together” in Latin.

Christiansen’s company continued to make wooden toys until 1942 when fire struck — the entire Lego factory burned to the ground. Unwilling to give in, the factory was rebui lt and the production line restarted soon after. By 1954, Christiansen’s son, Godtfred, had become the junior managing director of the Lego Group. It was during his conversation with an overseas buyer that he was struck by the idea of a toy system.

For over 30 years, the Lego Company made only toys and related goods. Then, in 1968, the company opened its first Legoland in Denmark. Combining the Lego building bricks with a computer, the Robotics Invention System 1.5 is now the most advanced toy in the Lego Company, which is targeted at users aged twelve and above, and that includes any parents or grandparents that want to join in.

Now the Lego Company is expanding its production lines to include lights, cameras and so on. Lego Company has done a lot to entertain many children around the world.

38. The author presents the text by ________.

A. telling an interesting story

B. showing the process in different stages

C. introducing a practical method

D. describing many different activities

39.Which of the following is NOT true about the Robotics Invention System 1.5?

A. It is the most advanced toy in the Lego Company.

B. It combines the Lego building bricks with a computer.

C. It is intended for users aged twelve and above.

D. It is the most expensive toy invented since 1968.

40. What is the correct order of the following events in the development of Lego?

a. The entire Lego factory burned to the ground.

b. The company and its products adopted the name Lego.

c. The company opened its first Legoland in Denmark.

d. Godtfred had become the junior managing director of the Lego Group.

A. cadb

B. cbad

C. abcd

D. badc

There are many factors which may have an influence on adults and children being able to lead a healthy life.

41 Often, both parents work outside the home. Children are expected to take on more responsibility at home to help their parents. They also have sporting and leisure activities as well as school expectations.

The business also adds another factor: The need to use cars to get from one place to another quickly. 42 Computers, DVDs, CDs, television,PlayStations and Xboxes have become major leisure activities, rather than traditional more active pursuits. This has led to a lifestyle of less exercise.

43 Unfortunately, they also promote fast food which fits easily into busy lifestyles. It is much more convenient at times to buy a quick take away rather than prepare a meal. The media constantly bombard (轰炸) their audience with “perfect” body images, the need to buy the most fashionable clothes, the most up-to-date computer games, the best places to visit and the best things to do.

Environments vary. 44 This can be harmful to people who suffer from breathing difficulties. Environments where passive smoking is unavoidable make it difficult to lead a healthy life.

45 Any person who wants to be healthy will find a way to be healthy if he/she is motivated enough!

A.The media provide entertainment and information.

B.Advertisements play an important role in people's life.

C.The important one is motivation or the desire to be healthy.
