Chem Commu

Urgent Note

上面邮件还提及到了we require a letter of why you feel urgent publication is justified before your manuscript can be sent to referees.

Dear Professor:

First of all please accept our apology that we have not replied to you in time. Here we submit the paper entitled ‘XXXX’ (Ref:XXX) to you for publication in Chemical Communications. There must be some editorial mistakes in our paper. We will be pleasure if you can forgive these mistakes and revise them. We will be greatly honored by your appreciation.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

In this manuscript, we demonstratively report XXXXXXXXXX, we believe the paper may be of particular interest to the readers of Chemical Communications. In addition, our findings may also have general implications in the theory of XXXXXX. Finally, the work described is our original work, it has not been submitted elsewhere for publication, in whole or in part. All the authors listed have seen the manuscript and approved to submit to Chemical Communications.

Thank you very much for your attention and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

XXXXX

Prof of chem.

Many thanks for sending your letter of justification for urgent publication, which we have received.

Dear Professor:

Please excuse me for taking some of your time.

We submitted a manuscript entitled “XXXXXX”(Ref. No. XXXX) to Chemical Communication on 20 Feb 2009. I do not know whether it is a proper time to contact you regarding the review process. I will be grateful for you if you tell me what has occurred to the review process of my manuscript in the several months. I am looking forward to your reply.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Thank you for your email. The ChemComm Editorial Office is now closed for Easter until 14th April 2009. All emails and submissions will be stored and dealt with as soon as possible after this date. Thank you. ChemComm Editorial Team

Dear Professor XX,

Thank you for your e-mail. I am writing to update you regarding your submission to ChemComm. This was sent for review as soon as the justification letter had been received in early March, however unfortunately several referees were unable to provide a report, and the initial reports received contained conflicting recommendations. The manuscript was therefore sent to an adjudicative referee, and I very much hope that I will receive an adjudicative report regarding the manuscript within the next few days. Once this has been received an Editorial decision will be made regarding the manuscript, and I will be in contact with you regarding the decision as soon as this has been made.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.

With best wishes,

Rachel Cooper.

Dear Professor XXXXXX

Communication Ref.: XXXXXXXXXX

Title : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I regret to inform you that the above manuscript has not been accepted for publication in ChemComm. The initial referees provided conflicting recommendations regarding the suitability of the work for ChemComm and an adjudicative referee was therefore consulted who recommended publication in a more specialised journal than ChemComm.

In the light of the referees’ comments, I have shown your work to Sophia Anderton, deputy editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry. She would be willing to consider this work for publication as a communication in Journal of Materials Chemistry once the comments made by the referees have been fully addressed.

If you would like to transfer this manuscript for consideration by Journal of Materials Chemistry please prepare a revised manuscript, addressing the points raised by the referees. Please quote the above reference number, and also include a detailed summary of any new work that has been added and a point by point list of the changes made in response to the referees’ comments.

Please note that your manuscript will receive a new reference number and submission date, and will be subject to further review. In addition, there is no strict page limit for communications published in Journal of Materials Chemistry. The revised manuscript may be uploaded via ReSourCe at https://www.doczj.com/doc/2513441528.html,/resource

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work, and I very much hope you will be interested in submitting a revised version of the work to Journal of Materials Chemistry.

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Cooper.

**************************************************************

Report A

The concept used in devising this catalysts composition is an interesting one and the results obtained with it probably deserve rapid publication, but the style used in this paper does not lend itself to publication in ChemComm.

The paper is too long; it contains an unnecessary review of other work on Ru catalysts, and excessive description of work on characterisation, not essential for a preliminary paper. What is missing is a short note of how the measurements were made and better comparison with how other Ru catalysts perform. The Arrhenius plot is not needed, and Fig 2 should show where the equilibrium concentration lies. The general tone is very laid-back, and needs to be a much more concisely written account, preferably with a somewhat better explanation of how the catalyst is working.

Report B

This manuscript is unfortunately so poorly written that it is extremely difficult to comprehend. One has to really struggle to follow the experiments and try to grasp the science. Upon getting some grip, it is very clear that this manuscript does not fit the general criteria for publication in ChemComm as it will not be of general interest to chemists who constitute the audience of this general journal. It will serve a better purpose published in a Materials Chemistry journal, and that is where I will recommend it should be submitted. I can recommend its publication in J. Mater. Chem. conditional that authors clean it up to make it more comprehensible.

Adjudicative Report

I agree with the other referees that this manuscript is poorly written. At present, the evidence provided on the model and on the characteristics of catalyst is insufficient.

I am surprised that the author can build a model without sufficient data and use the model to clarify the reaction mechanism. There are many references missed in the manuscript,There are no references and no data to be compared with. All the questions remain unanswered. The manuscript should be revised carefully, before the manuscript is submitted to J. Mater. Chem.

Report A:

Report B

So poorly written.

Mater. Chem.

Adjudiction Report;

J. Mater. Chem.
