Patience is usually not a good strategy. We should take action now rather than later.
Everyone hopes a wonderful result after a long time's attempt no matter in daily life or in the career. Do you have enough patience when deciding something or doing something? A hot and important controversy centering on the issue concerns whether patience is usually not a good strategy, and whether we should take action now rather than later. A fair proportion of people oppose that, other people, nevertheless, advocate that. As far as I'm concerned, I side with the latter for the following reasons.
First, things happened in the daily life are not always like what we see or what we hear, and many decisions will be better made if we have the patience to make an all-round consideration. Hearing something bad about our friends, we shouldn't believe it without thinking carefully and analyzing the situation, because it will probably make us lose some trustful friends. For example, a classmate told me that my best friend had spoken ill of me one day. After hearing such a thing, even though I was a little angry, I still drive myself to calm down and think about how to do next. Then I made a decision to talk to my friend in person. Finally, we found out that it was just a mistake resulting from wrong information that classmate conveyed to me. Thanks to my patience, I don't lose a good friend by making a consideration rather than taking action immediately.
Second, in the commercial fields, patience seems much more important to a company's success. Leading the company to run regularly, the leader has to make lots of decisions, such as choosing location, setting prices, and deciding whether to develop new productions, which all need a careful consideration. For example, a company called Docus faced a location problem because there were two location choices. It was obvious that one of the locations owned more population around than the other, so the company made a quick decision without doing a marketing research. Finally, the fact is that the company got a large economic loss in this decision, resulting from lacking a proper method of investigating and making a calculation. So we can see that patience is really a good characteristic even when thing seems obvious.
Admittedly, there are some certain situations in which taking action at once can help people acquire what they want. For instance, a person obtains a chance to participate in an interview of the company that he hopes to enter all the time. he should take the chance at once and prepare for the interview without any doubt because the chance will skip and won’t come back again if he hesitates for much time.
Although sometimes people need to act at once in order to obtain a valuable chance, when making an all-round consideration, we can conclude that the advantages of patience overweigh the advantages of taking action now. The reason is that most things are not as easy as you see before thinking care
fully, and as the saying says, people should think carefully before they act.
