作文参考答案:

The important role of a city’s local conditions in the urban design

Recently there is a hot debate on a report that a foreign design company invited by a little-known mountainous area in Guiyang provided a design without paying too much attenti on to the city‘s unique characteristics. Some people appreciate the bold innovation of the design but others do not like it. In my opinion, any urban design should take the city‘s original cultural heritage into account. The designers should suit their design to local conditions and try to take advantage of the local resources.<题目改写>

First, a city‘s regional characteristics or local cultural heritage are its symbol, its

identity. In a mountainous area, too many unconventional, super-futuristic buildings will not be compatible with the city‘s landscapes. Without these landscapes, it is just another so called modern city composed of concrete and steel. Take Beijing for example. In the past few years, Beijing has been removing a large number of such alleys traditionally called hutong, in order to make it become a real international city. But without these hutongs can this city still be called Beijing, an ancient capital? The disappearance of hutongs means the disappearance of a period of history, a cordial lifestyle, and even the disappearance of Beijing itself. Then Beijing will lose its uniqueness.<总分;举例>

Second, it can help a city save a lot of money by suiting the design to local conditions and try to take advantage of the local resources. This is especially

important to small cities, like this one in a mountainous area near Guiyang. We all know Guiyang is a developing city, not very rich. Unconventional, super-futuristic buildings mean large need of money input. Then more burdens may be added to this city, which will run counter to the city‘s original purpose of developing itself. Instead, if connections between a city‘s culture and the various urban sectors, including housing, infrastructure and governance, are well made, the maximum economic benefits will be achieved.<总分;分析题目现状> Besides, the modernization should be a gradual process. More haste, less speed. Nonetheless, it should not be overlooked that the shortcomings of futuristic-style constructing outweigh its advantages brought.

In conclusion, any urban desi gn should take the city‘s original cultural heritage into account. The designers should suit their design to local conditions and try to take advantage of the local resources. A scientific city design should be dependent on the city‘s regional characterist ics, on a case-by-case basis.

Maybe We Have a Better Idea

Few things can add as much colors to the regional features of a city as the look of its CBD. Hence, we know Manhattan of Big Apple, Pudong of Shanghai. Indeed, they are the most typical sights projecting a skyline of a modern city. However, should a CBD in the world look all like? Who told us it should solely be made up of unconventional, super-futuristic buildings? And should they stand out from their surroundings? Answers to these questions are universally and unequivocally No.

A CBD is not a detached but integral part of a city. To prevent it from being too extreme or monstrous, it supposedly goes with the general style of the rest parts of the city. In the past, we Chinese have learnt so many hard and painful lessons. We could have had a Beijing with more Chinese traditional characteristics, more valuable cultural heritage preserved and above all more integral and harmonious Tian An-men Square to present to the world. If our grand fathers had been more willing to

listen to the advice of some personages, mankind could have known another Paris of a totally different style in the world.

Secondly, with more and more mortals being aware of the value of eco-friendliness, those unconventional, super-futuristic buildings made especially of steel, concrete structures and other eco-unfriendly materials are being increasingly questioned, suspected and forsaken. A China southern city like GY should, perhaps, model its CBD on that of Davos rather than New York or Shanghai. Instead of erecting skyscrapers and towers, GY ought to make its CBD delicate and pleasing, offering bankers and businessmen from across the world comfortable and cozy offices.

Finally, a trend that has caught on since some time ago is that regional is international. The world is world nowhere because of its unity and sameness but because of its diversity and variety. To add her own measure of colors to the world, CBD in GY should be local, regional and reflecting the distinctive features of the city. Just a look would give one familiar with her an intimacy ―That‘s GY all over!‖ The day when such a CBD is

completed, she can be a resort of another sort riveting people all over the world doing business in the area while enjoying her beauty and warm comfort.

Therefore, the municipal and city-developers ought to give it a serious thought before turning whatever foreign design company‘s blue print to concrete and steel. Maybe we can come up with a better idea –a new type of CBD, eco-friendly, amiable and economical, might set a new precedent!

No one can have failed to notice the fact that Chinese culture has become increasingly diversified in the past decades. This can be embodied by evidences in many fields, one of which is architecture. Recently newspapers have reported that officials in a little-known mountainous area near Guiyang, Guizhou Province wanted to turn the area into a ―central business district‖ for Guiyang and invited a foreign design company to give it an entirely new look. The design company came

up with a blueprint for unconventional, super-futuristic buildings. This has aroused a heated debate. Some approve of the bold innovation of the design while others claimed that it failed to reflect regional characteristics or local cultural heritage. When asked of my opinion, I am inclined to agree with the former one, and I base my point of view on the following reasons.

In the first place, an unconventional or exotic design is in accordance with the primary function of this area.

A s we are told, this lot of land is meant to be a ―central business district‖. As the name indicates, this area is intended for business, most possibly international business, which is imaginable in the context of the nation‘s move of reform and opening-up to the outside world. Such being the case, an innovative and super-futuristic design of the areas is quite understandable, for it may demonstrate local people‘s wish to embrace and integrate with other cultures around the world. More foreign investors might be attracted here, which is just the aim of this program.

In the second place, allowing space for novel things is essential for the development of an area. The concept

of ancient and modern or that of local and alien is relative. What seems ancient now used to be modern centuries ago; similarly, what looks exotic today might be deemed natural tomorrow. A person needs to accept new knowledge to grow and the same is true with an area or a country. While new things often meet with objections at first, they are mostly accepted and loved later. A number of examples can be listed, with the most striking ones being the art museum in Paris designed by Bei Luming, a Chinese architect, and the Opera House in Sydney, whose designer only received due respect years after his death.

Admittedly, we should respect and treasure traditional and regional culture, inherit it and carry it on. However, preserving the old and traditional should not be the reason to refuse the new and modern.

Bringing what has been discussed into conclusion, we may claim that it is understandable and acceptable for people in the above-mentioned area to adopt the foreign design.

ounting on my fingers, I have stayed here for about three months. So I make a brief summary for the last three months here.

Because the design phase of the working drawings of the Ying Zhang long distance pipeline needed for field location in mid-May, I had a chance to begin my career in advance and take part in the study of Ying Zhang pipeline routing. It lasted for twenty days.

During the 20 days, I was inquisitive and tried hard to improve

myself. I aggressively finished the assignment given by the master, while studying specification related to storage and transportation at night so as to prepare for future design work. Meanwhile, I seized any opportunity to learn from the predecessors who participate in the project of pipeline routing. In this way, the theory of long-distance transport pipeline and ability of practice and application had been greatly improved.

In the meantime, I had mastered the principles of pipeline routing in the gas transmission project and had more comprehensively understood the route selection of general crossing project and crossing methods. Besides, I was able to read and make full use of topographic maps and GPS

navigator.

I returned to school in early June because for the thesis defense. During the 10 days in school, I efficiently arranged the time. As a

student, I perfectly accomplished the final test—I get ?A‘ for my graduation design. It is a good return for my hard work, then I successfully obtained degree certificate and diploma, completed all of the formalities in school and prepared for the leave. As a monitor, I organized my classmates to enjoy in basketball match, soccer match, graduation photo, graduation dinners and go through all kinds of formalities. After that I went back to company in late June and took part in the final phase of plotting,

publishing and filing. As a new employee, I joined the training and education activities.

In this way, I comprehensively studied the drawing of long-distance pipeline schematic, understood the rules and regulations of the company, skilled in the using CAD, office, pdsoft, Q-piping. Thus, I achieved a higher level when using those tools in design work. Moreover, I pay great attention to the relationship with the other employees. With regard to the new employees, we

learned from and helped each other; With regard to the older employees, I would take initiative to help do something, when encountering some problems that I couldn‘t resolve, I would ask and learn from them. I obtained a lot both in dong things and getting along with others, so I would like to thank for the help from the leaders and colleagues.

In mid-August, due to the demands of the work, two other colleagues and I were sent

to Southwest Branch of China

Petroleum Engineering

Company(CPE) in Chengdu of Sichuan for one year of study. Now, I had studied in CPE for about half a month, I deeply felt that the leaders gave much hope to us, but also felt the pressure and responsibility. Before leave for Chengdu, I had decided to work hard and live up to the expectations of leadership and the company. In the Southwest Branch, three of us made efforts to learn, actively work

and search for ways to get into this new group as soon as possible.

In the interim, we quickly adjusted to new work and environment. According to the arrangement of the company, first of all, we need adapt to the company's environment and the pace of work, and studied

three-dimensional mapping software- autoplant on my own so as to prepare for the future work. Then the company would organize a software training. Eventually we

would begin project design work in different project groups.

We strongly carried out this arrangement, while in spare time, I also took the initiative to learn more knowledge for doing some simple tasks such as printing drawings, accepting and delivering documents, organizing documents for the senior employees around. Take advantage of these opportunities, I quickly adapted to the new company's environment and also learned the company's various design

documents, the direction of the design process, some typical design of the flow chart……

In short, during the three-month period, I had grown up a lot, both in practical work, theoretical knowledge and the way of getting along with others. I had become more mature and stable. Consciously, I felt I had reached the company's requirements and were still

fast-growing and improving, therefore I gave a summary for passing probation.

Nowadays, with the rapid development of tourism industry, it has become popular for quite some people to travel at vacation after a long period of heavy load of working. They come to some historical sites to relax themselves. At the same time, holiday is the busiest travel times of the year. Generally speaking, the famous Chinese sites of historical interest will charge higher fees during the time. Recently, a controversial viewpoint towards historic sites' higher charge that whether such action will hurt citizen's sentiment. My opinion is that it's worth charging higher fees. First of all, I firmly believe that it is necessary to charge higher fees. People could understand the meaning of life and the permanent value from these measures, then they will change their thinking style of study and work. Historical sites let people realize death is not far away and we should not waste our life. Moreover, when parents take their children to the historic interest, the children can learn knowledge of history rather than just playing there. At the same time they receive education. In fact,I think it is meaningful to go to Chinese sites of historical interest than to the playground. Last but not least, historical sites' complete preservation needs a large amount of money. In order to make our historical sites exist forever, we

Some people appreciate the bold innovation of the design, whereas others hold that the design should suit its local conditions and reflect its regional characteristics or cultural heritage. As far as I am concerned, I prefer the latter. Firstly, any urban design should take the city’s original cultural heritage into account. Functional and harmonious architectures are needed to suit the life of the people there. In a mountainous area, unconventional and super-futuristic buildings are incompatible with its landscapes and they usually prove to be unsuited to the climate. Besides, the disappearance of its original features may mean the disappearance of a period of history and even the disappearance of its symbol and identity. Secondly, the form of traditional buildings anywhere in the world is influenced by local climate and geology. Therefore, the design well suited to local conditions can save a lot of money. As a small developing mountainous area near Guiyang, it should try to take good advantage of its local resources. Over the centuries, the local materials have become the raw material used by sophisticated and expert craftsmen. If it falsely understood “progress”, wanted to be “modern” at any price, despised the outstanding features of its traditional culture and attempted to introduce reinforced concrete buildings, it would impose great pressure on its people. In addition, such buildings require expensive maintenance which is a heavy burden for its people. Thirdly, it will take a long period of time before local people can truly be accustomed to and appreciate the unconventional, super-futuristic buildings. Lived in the traditional buildings for generations, local citizens are very likely to feel uncomfortable and uneasy surrounded by such super-futuristic buildings, let alone to appreciate them.

英语考试作文 2018专八作文范文:考研or工作 2018专八作文范文:考研or工作 Facing the two options, I will choose to take a job in a company. There are mainly two reasons for my choice. On one hand, I am eager to apply what I’ve learned to practice since I have got so many years’ schooling. Moreover, I am somewhat tired of the “ivory tower” life and ready for the “real world” life, for I assume that I can learn more from getting in touch with society. On the other hand, my family needs my financial support, because my parents are getting older and older and making less and less. Though it doesn’t take much to pursue my further study, I cannot support my parents financially if I choose to go to a graduate school. To sum up, to take a job in a company meets my desire of learning from practice and support my parents financially, which is a better choice for me.

2019年英语专业八级考试作文范文:Migrant Workers The Role of Migrant Workers Migrant workers have made a great contribution to the prosperity of cities. They leave their home-land for better chances. Some want to change their destiny, some want to make a fortune. Whatever the purposes they cherished when millions of them streamed into big cities, they have promoted the development of cities. Most of the migrant workers are hard working and unafraid of hardships. They take up the dirtiest, the most strenuous or dangerous jobs which city laborers are unwilling to do. With lots of building they have set up and streets they have kept clean, they have helped modernize and beautify cities. Not only have they become the main work force in the construction sector, they also have helped liberate city women from heavy housework chores by taking care of the babies, cleaning houses or providing any other services citizens need. Although some of the citizens complain about the increasing number of the problems such as theft, robbery a few of migrant workers have committed, most of the citizens agree that their contribution is obvious, and with better management, their role in the construction of cities will definitely be greater.

专八作文范文 02: The Most Important Quality of a University Student Many people regard university as job-training centre which would help us get a better job. However in my view, the four years in university are also supposed to be character building period during which we can develop some important personal qualities that are necessary for success in the present-day society. Among them, passion in learning may be the most important. To begin with, a mobile society has a demand for those who can easily adapt to the latest development. As the world we live in is a fast-charging one, we constantly need to update our knowledge and skills. while many people grit their teeth to cram their minds with new stuff, whose who have developed a genuine passion in learning during their college years may make a virtue of necessity, deriving much pleasure from learning what is required by the latest developments in their fields. Moreover, passion in learning may also help to ward off the feeling of futility and emptiness, a typically modern disease caused by complicated reasons such as huge pressure and fierce competition in modern society. As human beings, we need more than material comforts to assert the value of our life. In China, where the belief in god is largely absent, a life-long pursuit for knowledge may be a god substitute for religion, for those devoted to learning will be better aware of the significance of their life by seeing themselves as those who pass on the torch of knowledge. In this way, learning may serve to head off psychological crises. In conclusion, one’s passion in learning bring benefit to individuals in a variety of ways, hence it is the most important quality of a university student. 03:Love, and Then Be Loved In recent years, more and more teachers complain that their students are indifferent to others. Some even worry that the young generation might ruin the future of China. To be sure, many of our young people

The issue has aroused public debate over the climate of morality and credibility, and many people sigh over the moral degeneration(道德退化).In my opinion, while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, each individual should try his or her best to do good deeds and be sympathetic with others, instead of waiting for the environment to improve. There is no denying that some tragic events turn out to be traps(陷阱)by people with evil intentions, so people are becoming more risk-conscious(具有风险意识的) and are more wary (考虑周到的)of traps and deceits. some people even wonder, ‘Is our society hostile to good people?’(反问极其有力)The question may sound ridiculous but many people apparently think so. 英语专业八级满分作文范文推荐

英语专业八级满分作文范文推荐 Ambition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it, “And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated. This notion of life, as far as I observe, is closest to truth and does apply to almost all aspects of life. First things first, ambition renders us a sense of mission. No matter what decision you make you have to be responsible for your choice. Your choice procures you a sense of orientation, or more specially a sense of mission. And only a strong mission may enable one to accomplish greatness. Caesar of the ancient Roman Empire was urged by his ambition “I came, I saw, I conquered.” And became an unrivaled empire builder in the history of Rome. John Milton, stimulated always by his ambition that aimed at writing some “mighty lines” which England would unwillingly forget, had in due time secured his position as the second Shakespeare in the history of English literature. In the second place, ambition can bring one’s potentials to the full. Ambition may well serve as a catalyst activating one’s dormant potentials. Without ambition one’s potentials will remain slumbering like a dormant volcano. A case in point is Ms Zhang Haidi, a Chinese Helen Keller. It was her ambition to be a useful person has turned the almost paralyzed Zhang Haidi into a well-accomplished figure whose achievements would dwarf those of some normal people aim at the sun, though, at worst, they may probably land on the moon. Influential as it is upon us, however, ambition must be channeled in the right direction. If wrongly directed, one’s ambition may bring havoc on him and others. Hitler, whose ambition was to conquer Europe by whatever evil means, finally turned him into a demon. It was this demon that almost cast Europe into an unfathomable abyss of anguish and suffering. Another case is Macbeth whose ambition was to become the king of Scotland. However, his ambition was materialized by the murder of King Duncan. Consequently, unbearable guilt and psychological agony drove him to his tragic doom. To sum up, ambition can benefit us tremendously if wisely and correctly channeled, otherwise it may ruin others and ourselves. A poet says: life can be bad; life can be good; life can be dirty; life can be sad,; life can even be painful. In my mind’s eye, a person can make his life beautiful, meaningful and rewarding and stand out as a respectable personage if he is motivated by a well-orientated ambition. 2013 英语专八范文:中国大学收费制度 On University Tuition System in China Tuition system has become one of the hottest topics in China since it was put into effect.
