On the one hand,quite a few people, when faced with difficulties, form the habit of turning to such panaceas for help instead of depending on their own courage and determination. On the other hand,those profit-driven individuals and organizations, taking advantages of such desires, trick people into buying their so-called cure-alls.
These widespread misleading claims will do great harm to people as well as to the whole society. When people spend too much time searching for such panaceas, they will gradually desert diligence and persistence. As a result, the economic development of our country will be affected. The picture, “a brief history of commercial fishing”, shows us that there are less and less fish in the ocean within the last century. The two parts that comprise the picture display totally different scenes in 1900 and 1995. In 1900 there were a large number of fish while only one boat was fishing on the ocean. But in 1995 fishing boats increased sharply while only one fish was left. We can’t help asking ourselves a disturbing question: will there be a day when no fish will be left for our descendants in the future?
It is most obvious that the drawer means to alert us to the diminishing fishery resources because of excessive global commercial fishing. If no measures are taken to ensure the moderate exploration and reasonable disposition of natural resources, a destructive ecological disaster may not be far away and the next victim will probably be man himself.
Therefore, it is high time we took effective measures to solve this problem.The essential solution, in my opinion, is to combine fishing with raising and protecting fish. In the picture presented to us, an oil lamp gives out bright flame against the dark background. The flame is designed to be a child’s smile, so innocent and pure. The oil lamp here is a s ymbol of love, which is noblest among all the worthy feelings of mankind.
